Fundamentally Different.

Pacaso Ramirez continues to defy expectations and redefine the boundaries of hip-hop with his latest album, “Fundamentally Different.” As his 21st release since 2005, and his third just this year, Pacaso has not only showcased his prolific nature but also his dedication to pushing the limits of his creative output. This album, dropping in December 2024, follows “Before Chaos Descends” and “SoCal Circa82,” marking an extraordinary year for Pacaso with three major releases.

“Fundamentally Different” stands as a testament to Pacaso’s unique approach to music-making. This album is a deep dive into his artistic essence, stripped of the heavy features that characterized his previous works. With only three features across eighteen tracks, Pacaso takes listeners on a personal journey, exploring themes that sit outside the conventional categories of Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and secular music. It’s an exploration of a space that is entirely his own—personal, purposeful, and profoundly resonant.

The production on the album is handled by a cadre of talented producers—Skowp Beats, WZRD Gundlach, Insane Beatz, and Josh Norris—each bringing their distinctive sound that complements Pacaso’s visionary lyrics. Tracks like “9Thirty” and “Won’t Be Denied” mix introspective content with dynamic rhythms, while “Let There Be Light” and “Euphoria” envelop the listener in an auditory experience of growth and realization. “Sometimes We Cry” and “Wishing Well,” featuring Kev Rock, delve into the complexities of human emotion, creating a raw and relatable narrative.

Mastered by Pacaso himself, with artwork also credited to his creative vision, “Fundamentally Different” is not just an album; it’s a multi-sensory experience that captures the essence of an artist at a pivotal moment in his career. Mixed by World Wide Beats, each track is a polished gem, reflecting a clarity of sound and intention that is rare in today’s music landscape.

Available across all streaming platforms, “Fundamentally Different” is more than just an album—it’s a declaration of independence from the norm, an embrace of the fundamentals that make music a transformative force. Pacaso Ramirez doesn’t just create tracks; he crafts experiences, making “Fundamentally Different” a landmark project in a career that continues to evolve and inspire.

SoCal Circa82, a 7-track EP by Pacaso Ramirez, is a journey back to the roots of West Coast Hip-Hop, capturing the raw, nostalgic energy of California’s golden era. Fueled by the distinctive G-Funk and California sound of the early ’90s, Pacaso brings the influence of legends like 2Pac, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg to the forefront with an unmistakable California groove.

This EP was inspired by a collaborative compilation with producers Ntrospec and Detroit Red, whose infectious beats ignited Pacaso’s drive to craft a collection of songs drenched in West Coast flavor and nostalgia. Key tracks such as the title track “Circa82” and “Gridlock’d” feature production by Skowp Beats, while “What Will They Say (When I’m Gone),” a soulful 2018 re-release produced by Project Pluto, wraps up the album with thought-provoking introspection. Co-produced by Ntrospec and Detroit Red, standout songs “Disco Vibe” and “Ain’t Gotta Do a Thing” lend the album its energetic pace and variety.

Released under the “Various Artists” tag due to its collaborative nature, SoCal Circa82 may be a bit elusive on streaming platforms but is worth the search. Marking his 20th release since 2005, Pacaso Ramirez’s SoCal Circa82 reclaims and celebrates the essence of the West Coast sound for today’s listeners.

“Before Chaos Descends” marks the 19th chapter in Pacaso Ramirez’s captivating CHH journey, set to be the first of two albums releasing in 2024. While staying true to his Boom Bap roots, Pacaso boldly expands his sound, carving a larger footprint in the genre. Highlights include “God Laughs,” where Pacaso’s clever bars intertwine with KevRock’s, and “Strange Fire,” a collaboration with Adamental that delves into the theme of unforsaken offerings to God, all set to an irresistibly bouncy track.

This 18-track album showcases Pacaso’s veteran prowess, featuring a dynamic lineup of producers like Adamental, World Wide Beats, Insane Beatz, Man@Arms, BarrCode Beats, and the impressive new duo with international producer Skowp Beats. With each track, Pacaso aims to offer a divine perspective on contemporary issues, blending personal insights with a spiritual lens. “Before Chaos Descends” isn’t just an album—it’s a profound musical experience that invites listeners to see the world through God’s eyes.

Ruther Glen, VA – “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” [Philippians 4:6-7]

Life has been described as a choice between two journeys. You can follow the masses down the wide and easy road or venture onto the narrow path where few dare to go. At the end of the path is a gate that, while the way was difficult, leads the sojourner to life. Scripture tells us we should enter by the narrow gate. Along either journey are A Million Little Things that aim to distract and deter us from reaching the goal.

A Million Little Things is a project that tackles each track as an emotion or something that we deal with in life. Things that rock the status quo. Our goal in life is to get stronger, wiser, and find where our hope comes from.

With his first project release since 2020, Pacaso Ramirez acknowledges the things that throw themselves at us in this life. However, he confronts them with the backing of the power of the Savior while pushing on towards the prize. A Million Little Things drops across digital music platforms on September 8, 2023.

“The journey of A Million Little Things will hopefully resonate with the listener. I continue to try and speak on relatable and relevant topics. Ones that consistently plague the hearts of all humankind.” – Pacaso Ramirez

Not only is A Million Little Things added to the already impressive catalog of the Christian Rap veteran, but it also contains an air of change and confidence within its soundscape.

Ramirez rhymes with a noticeable quality of certainty from start to finish on the project. Known for high-level lyricism, he has pushed his boundaries further than ever and a new hunger is present throughout. Each word said during the 17 tracks is vital to the overall result. Ramirez has gone through many experiences over the past three years that have led up to this moment. It is as if he has a new conviction when it comes to his already clear calling. Is A Million Little Things his magnum opus or is it the start of a new beginning?

The project is also stacked with perhaps the deepest lineup of guest artists that Ramirez has collaborated with to date.

El Vow, Lank, Hugh Holla, and TC are just a few of the gifted artists who come alongside Pacaso to bring A Million Little Things to life. Sonically the album boasts a wide variety of production that keeps the listener engaged from beginning to end.

The project boasts the lead single “Juggernaut” which was met with positive response from both media and listeners upon its release in August of 2023.

A Million Little Things is available for purchase and streaming.
